Host Full-Time, Summer Season May to October - Contract - Job-Category: Food & Beverage - Job Type: Temporary - Job Schedule: Full-Time The Fairmont Empress, located in Victoria, BC, offers host positions for the summer season May to October. What you will be doing: - Ensure smooth operation of the Restaurant - Greet and seat guests - Provide concierge service to guests - Other duties as assigned - Hourly pay rate of $22.63 to $25.87 Your experience and skills include: - A minimum of one (1) year recent experience (in the last five years) as a server or host in an “a la carte” dining setting in an upscale, high volume restaurant “Serving It Right” and “Food Safe” Certification - Impeccable grooming and presentation - Completely fluent English language skills, both written and verbal - Transparent, precise, professional and helpful telephone manner - Knowledge of organizing reservations and service flows - Driven and focused on maximizing capacities - Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritiseHigh level of responsibility and commitment - Team player with proven success in relationship building - Commitment to providing excellent service and exceeding guests' expectations - Comprehensive and current knowledge of local attractions, events, restaurants and transportation information - Ability to anticipate guest needs - Experience with OpenTable is considered an asset Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): - Constant standing and walking - Frequent bending and kneeling - Constant carrying and lifting up to 20lbs - Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
