Substitute Cook Job Description

Duties include assisting with food preparation and service at district schools as needed. Candidates are encouraged to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification (district may provide training).

Employees and/or subs must have a current background clearance on file with GCSD#1 prior to working. See fingerprinting information on Employment home page.

The job of Cook was established for the purpose of providing support to the food service activities in the form of cooking, baking and preparing food items that meet mandated nutritional requirements and/or requests of students and school personnel; verifying quality of food and supplies; and maintaining facilities in a sanitary condition.

This job reports to the Food Service Director.

Experience

Job related experience is desired.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent.

Certificates&Licenses

None required.

Clearances

Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Testing

None required.
