A Bit About Us and the Job: - Oak Bay Bikes has been part of Victoria’s cycling community since 1934. - As we continue to grow our service department and expand our performance offering, we’re looking for an experienced Service Writer to be the key link between our customers and our workshop. This is a customer-facing role for someone who understands bikes, values great service, and thrives in a fast-paced shop setting. Job Summary: - Greet customers and assess service needs - Write clear, accurate work orders for the service team - Communicate timelines, estimates, and repair details to customers - Manage service workflow and help prioritize jobs - Coordinate with mechanics to ensure efficient turnaround - Follow up with customers and ensure a high level of satisfaction - Support sales of service-related parts and upgrades What We’re Looking For - Previous experience as a service writer or in a busy bike shop/service department - Strong knowledge of bicycles, components, and common service needs - Excellent communication and customer service skills - Highly organized with the ability to multitask - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment - Passion for cycling (road, gravel, MTB, or commuter) - Previous experience with retail POS Systems (Ascend preferred) Bonus Skills - Experience with service management systems (Lightspeed, Ascend, etc.) - Knowledge of performance road and high-end components - Experience with bike fitting or working alongside fit services What We Offer - Competitive wage based on experience - Staff discounts on bikes, parts, and accessories - A strong team environment rooted in local cycling culture - Medical and Dental Benefits - Opportunity to be part of a growing performance-focused shop Experience: - 2+ years service writing/advisor (preferred but not necessary) Work Location: - In person at Oak Bay Bikes (1990 Oak Bay Ave Victoria BC, Canada) How to Apply: Please send your resume and a short note about why you'd be a great fit to: - or drop off a resume in person.
