Mechanical&Electrical (M&E) Buildings Team
as an
Electrical Engineering Co‑op Student
for
Fall 2026 . In this role, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting the integrated design of building systems, working closely with both mechanical and electrical professionals on complex, multidisciplinary projects. This is an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real‑world challenges while developing the skills and confidence needed for a successful engineering career.
Your Impact
Support electrical engineering tasks within multidisciplinary M&E building projects.
Assist with the preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for electrical building systems including power, lighting, and life‑safety.
Collaborate with mechanical, structural, and architectural team members to deliver coordinated design solutions.
Contribute to sustainable, energy‑efficient, and code‑compliant building designs.
Participate in project meetings and coordination activities to understand full building system integration.
Support field reviews and site visits to gain exposure to construction practices and installation standards.
Apply engineering fundamentals while learning WSP standards, tools, and quality processes.
The Skills That Set You Apart
Currently enrolled in a university Electrical Engineering program and eligible for a recognized co‑op or internship term.
Completion of at least one year of undergraduate engineering studies by Fall 2026.
Foundational understanding of electrical building systems; interest in integrated M&E design.
Exposure to AutoCAD and/or Revit is considered an asset.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Interest in buildings engineering, sustainability, and professional development.
Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK&YT: $24.00– $32.25 MB&ON: $22.50– $30.25 NB, NL, NS, PE&QC: $21.50– $30.25
Disclosure The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
