Live In Caregiver (Personal Support Worker)MBB(b), Victoria

We are recruiting a Live In Personal Support Worker for our male employer with Dementia who requires assistance with Activities of Daily Living. Our employer likes to eat, sleep and go outside for fresh air in community Start Date: - As soon as possible Location: - Victoria (Near James Bay Public Library) Shifts & Hours of Work: - 5 to 7 days a week - Work hours: 9am-1pm and 4:30pm-8:00pm then only one quick intervention before bedtime = 8 hours of work per 24 hours - Free Accommodation and Private bedroom and shared bathroom included Compensation: - $25 per hour Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to): - Personal care such as showering, dressing, toileting, sponge bath, shopping - Meal preparation - Laundry and light cleaning - Administer medications - Assist in mental exercises and range of motion/stretches - Provide Companionship - Push client in wheelchair outside - Minimal lifting required (client walks semi-independently within his apartment building using a walker) - Lifting and assistance needed from sitting to standing position Required Qualifications: - Professional Dementia/Long-term care - 1 year of experience required - Must be fully vaccinated (2 doses) - Yearly flu shot required - Willing to be trained - Non-smoker - Patience and kindness are important - Mandarin/Cantonese speaking at basic level preferred but not required - Candidate must be able to handle weight up to 50 lbs. - Driver's License not required If you are interested in this position and meet all the required qualifications, please apply directly to this job posting.
