Caregiver (Personal Support Worker)ML (Victoria)

We are actively recruiting for 3-4 Personal Support Workers on behalf of a private female employer with Cerebral Palsy to assist with all activities of daily living. The employer is a certified life coach and she is also a big advocate for the local disability community. She is very motivated and driven; An aspiring author/writer and enjoys listening to music, watching movies and painting. The ideal candidates will have a sense of humor, be lighthearted and open to conversation; They will also have initiative and help lighten her day/mood. Start date: To be discussed with the employer Location: - Victoria, BC Shifts and Hours: - Monday and Thursday: 7:00am to 9:30am - Monday to Friday: 6:00pm to 11:00pm - Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 8:00am to 11:00am - Saturday and Sunday: 9:00am to 12:00pm AND 7:00pm to 11:00pm Compensation - $26.00 per hour Responsibilities (but not limited to): - Personal care such as showering, dressing assistance and toileting - Meal preparation and monitoring of eating due to risk of choking - Light housekeeping such as vacuuming, laundry, bathroom cleaning, etc - Medication administration in the morning and evening - Support during appointments, errands and grocery shopping via bus - Pivot transfers - General companionship Qualifications: - 2 years of caregiving experience an asset - Willingness to learn and take direction - Knowledge and/or experience with physical disabilities - First Aid and CPR Certificate - Physically fit to support with pivot transfers - Comfortable working in an environment with a service dog - Fully vaccinated (Minimum 2 doses) Pay: $26.00 per hour Application question(s): - Yes or No: Are you comfortable assisting with personal care such as showering, dressing assistance, toileting and all personal care? - How many doses of COVID-19 vaccine do you have?
