About the Opportunity: The Parks Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Regular Full-Time Arborist 1 position. Reporting to the Lead Arborist, the Arborist 1 does planting, pruning, hedge trimming, watering and general arboriculture and horticultural maintenance of a variety of coniferous and deciduous trees. In addition, this position is responsible for general park maintenance. Our Preferred Candidate: The ideal candidate will have: - International Society of Arboriculture Certification (ISA) - ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor - Current and Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License - Pesticide Applicator’s License for the Province of British Columbia - 2-3 years related experience Salary: $37.38 hourly plus benefits (2026 rates) Hours per week: 40 Prior to applying, please visit our website at esquimalt.ca/municipal-hall/employment to view the job description which provides a detailed outline of key duties and required qualifications, skills, and abilities.
