Sales Associate - Pet Store (Victoria)

Job Overview: Join our passionate team as a Sales Associate. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, to deliver world class service. You will help Pet Parents find the right nutrition and other solutions for their pets. You will be part of a team of passionate Pet Experts, and enjoy the perks of helping Pet Parents every day. What you do: - Build rapport and create lasting relationships - Preparing merchandise orders - Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions - Become a Product Specialist by learning and displaying willingness to be coached - Unload delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock - Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility - Other duties and tasks as required What you bring: - Working knowledge of POS system - Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills - Ability to work as scheduled to meet attendance requirements, which will include weekdays, weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings - Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store - Two years of excellence in retail, vet tech and/or customer service - Enthusiasm for continued learning and growth in the pet care industry, - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - A Natural Learner: You’re the person who reads the back of the package. You ask "why" and love sharing what you’ve learned with others. - Problem Solver: You enjoy the challenge of finding the right solution for a unique pet issue. - Communicator: You can take technical information (like how an Omega-3 helps a skin barrier) and explain it in a way that’s easy to understand. - Reliable Team Player: You show up ready to engage with both your team and your customers Essential physical demands and work environment: Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, see and hear. Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally exposed to a wet environment with pet hair. The noise level is moderate in the work environment; however, associates may be exposed to high levels of noise at times.
