Family Engagement Assistant at Essa Public Library, Georgian Bay South Shore (Angus)

Family Engagement Assistant Summer Contract Position: June 15 - Aug 26, 2026.

$19 per hour with 4% vacation pay each pay period. 30‑hour work week.

Work schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:30 am–5 pm; Friday 9 am–3:30 pm; Saturday 10 am–4 pm; lunch 12–1 pm. Outreach event on Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1st.

Applicants must be 15‑30 years of age to meet grant requirements. Partial funding paid by the Government of Canada.

Job Activities

Deliver summer activities for children aged 4‑12.

Create an inclusive environment for all children to participate.

Foster literacy development in children.

Make meaningful connections with families.

Assist with other library tasks as time permits.

Travel between library branches and local parks with personal vehicle.
