Type: Permanent Full Time Seasonal with opportunity for FT Perm

Reporting to: Service Manager

estimated $23-$28 per hour
Company Overview We are a large, full-service marina nestled in the southwest corner of beautiful Penetanguishene Harbour. As the largest independently owned marina on Georgian Bay, we understand the importance of exceeding our customers’ expectations.
Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused professional to split time between our parts department and our service department. The
Service&Parts Advisor
combines service advisor responsibilities with parts management duties, ensuring smooth service operations and efficient parts inventory handling. The ideal candidate will have experience in marine or automotive service, effective communication skills, and a passion for boating.
Customer Interactions
Provide exceptional friendly and professional customer service to all marina patrons by interacting with them in a personable manner to guarantee a pleasant and safe experience
Perform office administration tasks, answering emails and phone calls
Greet customers and assess their service needs for boats and marine equipment
Assist customers in selecting and purchasing marine parts, accessories, and supplies
Provide accurate estimates for repairs, maintenance, and service work
Process any client or supplier returns
Process customer transactions over the phone with the point-of-sale system
Receive client payments and process point-of-sale on merchandise and parts
Keep records of parts sales, returns, and exchanges.
Essential Job Functions
Continually strive to meet the Hindson Marina standard of customer experience
Follow, understand, and practice all Hindson Marina policies and procedures (i.e., workplace health and safety&HR policies)
Maintain clear communication between customers and the service team, updating them on service progress and completion timelines
Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely availability of required parts
Maintain a clean, orderly and safe working environment
Perform daily till balancing and summit to accounts payable
Update customer key list
Organize and shelve all merchandise in the Chandlery and parts department
Manage and rotate stock, create displays, organize and shelve merchandise properly
Help maintain accurate inventory of parts and place orders as needed to replenish stock
Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming parts and equipment
Maintain stocking levels throughout the season
Conduct accurate inventory cycle counts and reconciliation
Ensure all necessary parts and materials are available for scheduled repairsAccructly process repair orders in a timely manner
Work with vendors and suppliers to source and order specialized parts
Perform accurate annual inventory
Organize and maintain a well‑stocked and labeled parts department.
Maintain updated knowledge of products, industry trends, and methods by attending Trade Shows and Training Programs
Request assistance or defer all technical questions to Service or the Parts Manager
Perform any other duties that may be requested by your Manager or Owner
Job Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a retail marine parts or automotive parts environment
Knowledge of boats and marine systems is required
Knowledge of outboard and inboard regular maintenance and service schedules is an asset
Must be available to work flexible hours during the weekdays and must be able to work every Saturday or Sunday (37.5– 42.5 hours per week, depending on the season)
Must have sound knowledge of MS Office, Email and Internet
Experience with LightSpeed computer software or a marine oriented POS system is an asset
Possession of a valid G license is preferred
Valid Pleasure Craft Operators card is an asset
Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset

Must work well as a team and individually
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Detail‑oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
Working Conditions:
Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistance
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pulling
Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
Significant exposure to varying weather conditions
May encounter excessive noise from boat engines and equipment
Will encounter noxious smells from wastewater, gasoline and diesel fuel
Will encounter hazardous materials, dangerous or toxic substances and chemicals
