Personal Support Worker (PSW) (Midland)

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and in-home care environments. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients while ensuring their safety and well-being. Duties - Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. - Provide personal care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and autism. - Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status while documenting any changes or concerns. - Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals and assist with medication administration when necessary. - Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and ensuring compliance with hygiene standards. - Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. - Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely when required. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to individual needs. Requirements - Previous experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care settings is preferred. - Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. - Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy. - Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize changes in behavior or condition. - Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is essential. - Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient transfers and mobility assistance. - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. - A compassionate nature combined with patience and empathy towards clients' needs is crucial for success in this role.
