Prep/Daytime Cook (Wasaga Beach)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is perfect for individuals with a passion for the food industry and a desire to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Duties - Prepare ingredients and components for menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients - Assist in cooking and assembling dishes according to recipes and presentation standards - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces - Follow food safety protocols to ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products - Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by efficiently completing assigned tasks - Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations - Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to meet quality standards and customer expectations Skills - Experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service is preferred - Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations - Excellent teamwork and communication skills - Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus but not required for entry-level candidates - Passion for the food industry with a commitment to delivering quality service This position offers an opportunity to grow within a agile culinary setting while honing essential skills in food preparation, safety, and customer service.
