Mass Timber Designer New Lowell

Timmerman Timberworks Inc. is a leader in the Canadian mass timber industry specializing in the design, supply and installation of heavy timber, and structural wood products. Established for over 25 years, our team is involved in the most innovative design/builds in the industry. We are currently looking for a Mass Timber Designer to join our team at our Recent Lowell office. The successful candidate will assist in developing and drafting structural design solutions for mass timber buildings. Duties and Responsibilities Develop structural designs for projects from concept through to construction completion Liaise with other departments, engineers and consultants in coordinating technical aspects of the project Assist with the analysis of design issues and determining appropriate solutions Creating and maintaining 3D CAD project models Produce 2D drawing sets for engineer approval, production and site erection Produce accurate material take-offs Assist with estimating for prospective projects Qualifications and Skills · Post secondary education in a design/drafting program such as Civil Engineering or Architecture · Good knowledge of 2D and 3D AutoCAD. Experience in AutoCad and/or Solidworks would be considered an asset · Familiar with architectural and structural concepts of construction projects · Ability to read and interpret building blueprints · Experience with heavy timber, cross laminated timber (CLT), glue-laminated timber (Glulam) and nail-laminated timber (NLT) would be an asset · Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, with tight deadlines · A desire to learn and continually develop · Strong interpersonal and communication skills · Ability to prioritize deadlines, track status and facilitate progress on multiple projects Renumeration is based on qualifications/experience.
