Industrial Engineer (Midland)

Position Industrial Engineer – Raytheon ELCAN – Midland, Ontario Overview Raytheon ELCAN is a global leader in high‑precision optical systems. We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join our Engineering Team. In this role, you will maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and ensure on‑time delivery for our customers. Responsibilities - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive improvement through process and value‑stream mapping, line balancing, capacity analysis, factory layouts, lean manufacturing principles, and strategic planning for automation and capital expenditures. - Develop production area models using process flows, value‑stream maps, Pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to capture material flow, information exchange, and key performance metrics. - Analyze operational data and performance metrics to identify issues and improvement opportunities. - Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on capacity, automation, digital transformation, infrastructure, and new technology integration. - Partner with program management, operations, facilities, and engineering teams to optimize factory layout and support program needs. - Lead FMEA reviews, scrap material analyses, feasibility studies, and ROI‑based cost‑benefit evaluations. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent in engineering/science). - 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (defense industry preferred). - Working toward or eligible for P.Eng license. - Experience with high‑mix, mid‑volume production environments. - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles. - Experience with capacity analysis, manufacturing technologies, production systems, and performance metrics. - Knowledge of simulation tools. - Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and team‑building skills. - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities. Compensation & Perks Salary range: CAD65,000–107,800. Competitive compensation includes an incentive program, benefits, pension plan, and employee scholar education program. Security Clearances This position involves technologies regulated by the Canadian government’s Controlled Goods Program and the Contract Security Program. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, have resided in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, and meet all program requirements.
