Description
Your Impact Play a critical role in planning, executing, and overseeing complex automation projects. Ensure projects operate within the constraints of scope, quality, time, and cost to deliver specified requirements and meet customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, interfacing with customers, and providing strategic guidance to achieve project and organizational objectives. What You’ll Be Doing - Oversee and manage a portfolio of complex projects, guiding them from inception to completion, which includes project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting in line with established practices. - Collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams, delegating tasks and setting explicit project objectives to ensure successful project delivery. - Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets, continuously tracking progress and adjusting as needed to achieve project goals. - Maintain open lines of communication with customers, acting as a primary point of contact to gauge satisfaction with project progress and performance. - Document and share customer requirements in compliance with the approved contract. - Identify, evaluate, and address project risks, taking proactive steps to resolve issues that may impact project delivery. - Keep the project team and management informed about significant changes in project status. - Offer mentorship and guidance to junior project managers and team members. - Effectively manage project resources, including team members and external vendors, to ensure resource allocation aligns with project requirements. - Collaboratively negotiate terms, conditions, pricing, and delivery, considering trade-offs between scope, quality, time, and cost in accordance with management objectives. - Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and project teams. - Organize and manage data (including specifications, quotes, estimates, drawings, etc.) in accordance with Samuel Automation's standards. - Monitor and report on monthly progress, providing realistic forecasts for final target outcomes. - Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement and incorporate lessons learned into future projects and ongoing organizational enhancements. You’ll Be Great At - Ability to anticipate and proactively plan for project-related issues - Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills - Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities - Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices - Knowledge and working experience in an ISO 9001 environment. - Excellent organizational skills in a multi-disciplined and multi-projected environment - Goal-oriented and action-focused. - Strong working knowledge of MS Project, MS Word, and Excel. AutoCAD an asset - General knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, servo controls, PLCs and robotic equipment - Able to read, and understand specifications, mechanical and electrical drawings, and schematics. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language Level of Autonomy and Authority - Work is assigned with broad objectives to be accomplished. - Prioritizing of workload is typically self-directed. - Informal authority is assumed over general direction of “Project Team.” - Human resource allocation decisions derived by consensus with Department Managers - Takes proactive or corrective action as necessary and within established guidelines. - Unusual situations or high-level decisions are usually reviewed with Management for direction. - Technical guidance and direction required for difficult or complex issues. - Project-based decisions are often made independently. - Approves project costs. Key Requirements - Post-secondary education in a community college, university-level engineering program or related relevant education - Minimum of three (3) years experience in an engineering role within the field of industrial automation - 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects. - Participation in PMI preferred. - Driver’s license may be required, as well as the ability to travel to customer sites both locally and internationally. The expected compensation range for this position is $86,640 - $119,130 annually. This range includes base pay and target variable pay. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for the role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
