Only applicants looking for work in all seasons will be considered. *** Title: Design Build Crew Member Reports To: Design Build Crew Leader Summary The Design Build Crew will be required to assist the foreman or the lead hand in preparing the job site for day-to-day activities. They will be tasked with cleaning and preparation of job sites and operating a variety of tools and equipment to complete jobs Wage range: $20-$25/hour. Core Competencies ● Customer Focus ● Communication ● Energy and Handle Stress ● Teamwork ● Quality Orientation ● Problem Solving ● Accountability and Dependability ● Operating Equipment ● Ethics and Integrity Primary Duties ● Clean and perform preparation of worksite. ● Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools. ● Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. ● Provide physical labor, including heavy lifting. ● Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. ● Perform demolition work and salvage useful materials. ● Read and interpret plans, instructions, blueprints, structural drawings, rough sketches, and specifications to determine work activities. ● Interact professionally with clients and assist them through any issues they may have. ● Other duties as assigned by management. Requirements ● High school diploma. ● Appropriate credentials and certifications, including WHMIS, First Aid, CPR. ● Previous experience in landscape construction is an asset. ● Strong knowledge of landscaping equipment, materials, and best practices. ● Possess a valid driver’s license. ● Work independently in a busy environment. ● Experience with routine maintenance operations. ● Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. ● Work well under pressure. ● Strong attention to detail. ● Interact with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. ● Willing to teach and learn from others. Work Conditions ● Physical ability to lift up to 50lb. ● Travel to off-site locations may be required. ● Safety equipment will be required, e.g., green omega safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc. ● Overtime as required. ● Hazards associated with the trade. ● Work both indoors and outdoors.
