Job Title: Software Testing Specialist Location: Waterloo, ON - Onsite Duration: 12 months Client: Ford of Canada Job ID: 6259 Pay Range: C$60/hr. on T4 Introduction Join our team as a Software Testing Specialist where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Media & USB systems. You will work in an agile environment, collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and QA teams to enhance our automation coverage and testing strategies. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong Python development experience in building test automation, including test frameworks, utilities, CI execution, and maintainable test suites. Experience with automation engineering practices such as test design patterns, version control (Git), and Python test frameworks (e.g., Slash). Solid experience working with embedded platforms (e.g., QNX and Android-based systems), including ADB and basic command-line workflows. Hands-on experience with in-vehicle infotainment Media & USB features or similar embedded media systems. Experience with testing processes, test management, and planning (preferably using JIRA/Test Rail or similar tools). Robust QA fundamentals including requirement analysis, automation strategy, test plan creation, and risk-based coverage. Prior work experience in the client''s industry. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with USB device behavior, including mass storage and file systems such as FAT32/exFAT. Knowledge of common audio formats and containers (e.g., MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, M4A) and playlists (e.g., M3U). Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Python-based test automation for Media & USB systems. Execute automated tests to validate pull requests, tagged builds, and integration drops. Analyze automation results to distinguish product vs. automation failures and publish summaries. Create Jira defects/tasks to drive issues to closure and improve automation reliability. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and QA in an agile environment.
