Summary We are seeking a diligent Litigation Administrator or Law Clerk to join our team in Waterloo, ON. Your contribution will help uphold our commitment to justice and client advocacy. : - Answering calls and emails. - Screening potential new clients. - Providing case updates to clients and necessary parties. - Maintaining online filing systems and ensuring documents associated with files are scanned into the File Management Systems. - Draft correspondence and legal documents, such as, motion records, affidavits, factums, affidavit of documents, and other court documents. - Assist with legal research and case preparation - Assist in preparation for Trial and at Trial. - Proofread and review legal materials for accuracy. - Ensuring critical deadlines are identified and met on an ongoing basis. Required Skills: - High attention to detail and accuracy in document review. - Willing to take initiative without having to be prompted - Strong organizational and research skills. - Excellent written and oral communication abilities. - High degree of personal ethics, integrity and responsibility. - Ability to deal with sensitive issues, and safeguard privileged and confidential information. - Professional and courteous client-focused attitude and telephone manner. - Adaptability to a changing and quick-paced environment. - Time management - ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines. - Ability to work as a team player, as well as independently without constant supervision. - High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. - Experience with Legal Software and asset but not required. - Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure and Accident Benefits procedures can be an asset but not required. - University degree and/or completion of post-secondary training is preferred but other candidates will be considered. - Prior experience in the legal field is not required for candidates that can otherwise demonstrate they have the organizational capacity, desire to learn and ambition to advance in a dynamic legal profession. Ability to Commute/Relocate: Candidates must be willing to relocate or reliably commute or relocate accordingly to Waterloo Region, ON, and/or to a region within 45mins drive. Training will be largely in person but thereafter working remotely 2-3 days per week will be accommodated. Position (in person or remote) is 9am-5pm, Mondays to Fridays.
