Unspecified We are currently seeking a Principal Specialist, Systems Engineering for our Waterloo location. This position will be responsible for planning, coordination and execution of system engineering activities within an integrated product/project team composed of customers, internal and subcontract members. The primary focus of this position is on system engineering related to design, development, integration, test and acceptance of new and existing technologies of both the Primary and Secondary Radar. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for acting as a customer interface for System Engineering activities within programs and executing requirements. Responsibilities: Manage system requirements / customer for developmental systems involving multiple subcontractors. Manage and/or generate systems engineering related documentation of legacy and newly developed products (specifications, Interface Control Documents, test requirements, test plans, ongoing maintenance) in support of projects. Perform trade studies and make recommendations with respect to insertion of new technologies to meet required capability advances. Planning, execution and documenting of formal qualification tests while developing customer interface Lead job analysis to estimate engineering effort required for specific tasks and projects. Responsible for ensuring that systems engineering tasks are performed in accordance with Collins Aerospace engineering policies and procedures. Support manufacturing for transition of products from development to production. Support business development regarding recent system integration projects, including participation in technical discussions with customers. Support existing programs to meet other customer requirements including leading the conduct of technical investigations, integration development, and program review meetings. Lead other engineering staff with system engineering related technical issues. Support growth of the division with regard to expanding assigned projects and seizing the opportunities for additional work through development initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical, Computer, Systems Design, or equivalent. 10 years of experience in a systems engineering, integration or development environment. Experience with radar systems, Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems, and hardware and software integration programs. Experience with Modeling and Simulation applications and architecture would be an asset. Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to work in a team environment. This position is required to work onsite at our facility in Waterloo, Ontario. The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods. The salary range for this role is 101,500 CAD - 151,500 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
