Overview: Community Living Port Colborne–Wainfleet is currently seeking a Youth Worker to join our Community Living team. This program provides 5:1 support for teens and young adults attending flexible, community-based skill development programs and daily outings. Youth Workers support teens and young adults throughout the day to ensure a secure, inclusive, and positive summer experience working on social skills, personal goals and recreational fun. Hours: 35 hours per week Monday - Sunday (daytime and evening hours), schedule must be flexible. The Program runs from July 6, 2026 to August 28, 2026 and mandatory training runs from June 22, 2026 to June 26, 2026. Nature and Scope: The Youth Worker works directly with teens and young adults who may have special needs, including physical, behavioral and/or medical considerations. Youth workers provide individualized support to help youth successfully integrate into community programming while promoting independence, inclusion, and enjoyment. Responsibilities: -Develop goal-based activities and plan a consistent schedule to include teens and young adults in working toward those goals -Prepare, organize, and schedule activities for the week -Transport participants to scheduled activities -Support and integrate participants into daily programs -Prepare, organize, and adapt activities as required -Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times -Assist with personal care needs as required -Communicate effectively with coworkers and the Program Coordinator -Return participants home safely at the end of each scheduled activity -Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions Qualifications: -Currently enrolled in, or planning to enroll in Child and Youth Worker, Recreation & Leisure, or a related field -Previous experience working with children/youth (experience with disabilities is an asset) -Valid G driver’s license -Clear driver’s abstract -Access to a reliable vehicle with valid insurance to transport children -Clear Vulnerable Sector Check -Current CPR and First Aid certification We thank all applicants in advance; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
