Niagara's Finest Thai is currently seeking a Prep Cook to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity that can provide flexibility, valuable work experience, and a chance to work with a tenured team.
Job Title: Prep Cook

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.
Duties and Responsibilities
Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
Prepares food by cutting, chopping and mixing for the preliminary stages of cooking
Sets up the cooking stations in conjunction with the different levels of cooking prior to the shift
Pre-cooks food items to ensure food supplies are ready for the shifts, i.e. pasta, rice, vegetables etc
Ensures the cooking areas are supplied and clean prior to and after the shift
Assists Cooks/Chefs as required
Ability to be trained in any of the food outlets
Follows LHPL’ standards for food preparation
Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
Suggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
All other duties as assigned
Professional Requirements
1-2 years work experience in a kitchen or similar environment
Excellent eye-hand coordination
Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate
Fine motor skills for cutting, chopping and arranging of meals on plates
Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations in a dynamic environment
Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
Personal Attributes
Good tasting ability for sampling of food items
A team player who is flexible and responsible
Must be patient and steadfast worker
Sound safety skills/training
Above average cleanliness and personal grooming
Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services
Positive sales-oriented personality
Desire to meet goals
Ethical and honest
Physical Requirements
Physical demands of lifting up to 50 lbs. including bending and carrying
Standing for extended periods of time
Working in extreme temperatures of hot and cold within the kitchen
Constant noise and interruptions of busy kitchen atmosphere
