Accounts Payable Specialist Port Colborne

Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable Specialist for a temporary 6-month contract at our plant in Port Colborne, Ontario. Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will support the daily operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor transactions. This role is integral to maintaining robust vendor relationships, supporting internal departments, and contributing to the overall financial accuracy of the organization. Responsibilities Assist with the full Accounts Payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all payables. Prepare payments and process invoices in accordance with company policies and controls. Process and verify employee expense reports, ensuring proper documentation and approvals. Assist with processing and matching purchase orders to invoices. Verify and reconcile vendor statements, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly. Validate and maintain accurate vendor information within the accounting system. Respond to vendor and internal inquiries with professionalism and strong customer service. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 13 years of accounting or accounts payable experience. SAP experience is considered an asset. Robust interpersonal and customer service skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
