Assistant Store Manager (Welland)

The Assistant Store Manager provides support to the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail store operations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and achieving sales goals. In the absence of the Store Manager, acts as the Manager on Duty (MOD). Responsibilities include managing staff, executing daily operational tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, explaining company rules to all team members, performing accurate inventory counts, maintaining merchandising practices, and overseeing recruitment and training of new employees. Daily Responsibilities - Assisting the Store Manager with daily operations and staff management. - Helping with store merchandising, shelf stocking, and unboxing and boxing daily shipments. - Providing exceptional customer service and resolving escalated issues. - Training, coaching, and developing employees. - Performing cash management, store opening and closing duties as needed. - Assigning tasks to the team. - Ensuring store safety and cleanliness standards are maintained. - Conducting Manager on Duty tasks: ensuring daily breaks, time and attendance are recorded. - Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to staff. - Ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards. - Implementing and maintaining visual merchandising standards based on company strategy. - Responsible for hiring and performance management process. Qualifications - Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the retail industry. - At least two (2) years in a supervisory or management role. - Open availability required (day, evening, weekend). - Ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities. - Positive leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills. - Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a dynamic, fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.
