Flagger/Labourer (West Kelowna)

Job Overview We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Flagger to ensure the safety of construction crews and the general public at various work sites. The Flagger will play a critical role in directing traffic, maintaining safe work zones, and supporting ongoing construction, paving, and heavy equipment operations. Duties - Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using hand signals, signs, and flagging devices - Communicate clearly with construction crews and drivers to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety compliance - Set up appropriate signage, barriers, and warning devices before work begins - Monitor work zones continuously for safety hazards or violations - Assist with the operation of heavy equipment as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed - Support paving activities by coordinating traffic patterns during paving operations - Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities and safety checks Requirements - Prior experience in heavy equipment operation, paving, or construction is preferred but not mandatory - Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions - Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills - Valid certification or training in flagging procedures is a plus; training will be provided if necessary - Must be alert, responsible, and committed to maintaining a safe work workplace - Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks as required - Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction zones is advantageous This role is vital for ensuring safety on busy construction sites while supporting productive project completion.
