Number of Available positions: Vacancies: one (1) Compensation Assistant Reporting to the Supervisor, Compensation The incumbent will: - Provide administrative and operational support to the Compensation Team in the areas of customer service, coordination of the job evaluation process, and maintenance of records and databases, including HRIS (PeopleSoft) and program specific systems. - Draft, prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and documentation. - Respond to inquiries regarding compensation administration, policies and procedures, and provide guidance on required actions and document completion. - Administer the monthly and ad hoc job evaluation process for multiple employee groups including coordinating schedules and ensuring that jobs move through the evaluation phases in timely manner. - Provide administrative and clerical support, including document production, data analysis and maintenance of confidential records and databases. - Organize and maintain confidential records and files in accordance with the Region's policies for filing, retrieval, and disposal. - Participate, assist, and collaborate, as appropriate, in the coordination and administration of projects. - Coordinate and schedule meetings. The successful applicant will possess: - A post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Several years' administrative experience working in Human Resources. - Experience supporting compensation initiatives is preferred. - Knowledge of employment related legislation such as, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Pay Equity Act. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Outlook (or equivalent email system), and a working knowledge of Internet and Intranet operations. - Superior interpersonal, written communication and problem-solving skills. - The ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines and co-ordinate, analyze and organize data with an emphasis on accuracy and detail. - Superior customer service skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, tact and diplomacy. - The ability to work with minimal supervision, exercising discretion and independent judgement in the performance of duties, and contribute to a positive team environment. - Knowledge of PeopleSoft FIMS and HCM systems are considered an asset. - A demonstrated ability to provide high-quality service with consideration for equity and accessibility.
