Server (Whitby)

Overview We are seeking a friendly and attentive Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in food service, hospitality, and customer relations within a quick-paced environment. Prior restaurant or food industry experience is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a positive attitude. The Server will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, handling payments, and upselling menu items to enhance guest experience. Responsibilities - Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit - Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Micros POS, ensuring timely delivery of food and drinks - Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering and cash handling procedures - Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and wine or beverage pairings to assist guests with selections and upselling opportunities - Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld by following proper food handling and sanitation protocols - Assist in food preparation or kitchen tasks as needed to support smooth restaurant operations - Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods - Address guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience - Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate order timing and presentation - Uphold hospitality standards by creating a welcoming environment for all guests Skills - Experience with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, for order entry and cashiering - Solid customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously - Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures - Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting - Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and upselling menu items effectively - Previous restaurant or food service experience is highly desirable; familiarity with the food industry enhances performance - Ability to work well in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail - Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members - Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join our team as a Server where you will have the opportunity to deliver memorable dining experiences while honing your hospitality skills in a vibrant setting.
