We’re looking for a
Senior Field Claims Adjuster, Property
to join our growing team in our
Mississauga and Ajax office !
What you’ll do here:
Conduct on‑site inspections and investigate relatively complex commercial and personal lines property claims in a timely and respectful manner through communication with customers, contractors, consultants and any other related parties.
Handle field tasks on behalf of telephone adjusters.
Provide superior quality of customer service to external and internal customers.
Analyze the information gathered, interpret insurance policy wording, determine coverage and assess damage.
Within established authority limits, negotiate with customers, claimants, lawyers, and insurers to settle claims while managing costs efficiently and effectively.
Gather factual versions of the circumstances of the claim from insureds, third parties and other stakeholders to determine the circumstances, causes and eligibility of claims.
Assist in the evaluation and negotiation of large losses.
Anticipate recoveries and direct the investigation accordingly.
Actively collaborate with the various related departments in the claims and underwriting departments, as well as outside specialists.
Build relationships and collaborate with different teams including our reliable partners, engineers, appraisers, underwriting and legal.
Adhere to company standards and guidelines for file documentation while ensuring sound management of external fees and costs.
Stay in the know about current insurance products and trends in appraisal and investigation techniques and services.
What you bring to the table:
University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
5 to 7 years of experience handling personal and commercial property claims with at least partly acquired experience directly in the field.
Demonstrates a passion for customer service with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented, capable of working in a rapid‑paced and changing environment.
Strong aptitude for technology with excellent computer skills.
Demonstrates strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Valid drivers licence with a good driving record.
Can travel on short notice.
Salary range (not limited to): 80,700 – 98,700.
Annual bonus
target based on base salary, with potential payout of up to double the target subject to personal and company performance (10%).
