In the position of Recreation Therapist, you will assess and create therapeutic recreation activities tailored for geriatric individuals, directly contributing to their treatment plans. Your role will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to design and evaluate programs that enhance socialization, functional activity, and overall recovery, particularly for those with dementia or severe mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:• Assess and design individualized recreation programs for patients • Conduct therapeutic group sessions and activities • Work within interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient goals • Support geriatric patients in social skills development • Aid in transitions for patients to community or long-term care

Requirements:• Degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation required • At least two years' experience in mental health settings • TRO membership or eligibility for registration preferred • Knowledge of mental health treatment practices • Valid driver’s license and CPR Level HCP certification
