Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Recreation Therapist. Responsibilities

Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized and group therapeutic recreation programs as part of the recovery‑focused care model. Provide functional and strength‑based social skill programs that support the treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery of forensic patients. Contribute to the patient’s Plan of Care and work as an integral part of the interdisciplinary team.Work within the Forensic Rehabilitation Unit (FRU) of the Secure Forensic Service and, as patient needs dictate, in any area of Ontario Shores. Cover the PICA within FRU and be prepared for flexible scheduling. Maintain regular attendance and perform the physical demands required for the position.Qualifications

Degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation and at least two years of related experience. Knowledge of current therapeutic recreation practices, theories, and methodologies. Current member of the Therapeutic Recreation Society (TRO) required; registration with TRO preferred. Understanding of recovery principles and mental illness treatment practices.Ability to design assessment, leisure education, and participation programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with computers. Valid driver’s licence and CPR Level HCP (Health Care Provider) certification. Benefits and Contract
