Description
About the Opportunity Provide reliable financial information, account reconciliation analysis and operational support related to events, tenants, 3rd‑party agreements and other internal management reporting requirements. Support the implementation of risk management and internal controls, including assessment and monitoring of internal controls to ensure they are adequately designed, operating effectively and in compliance with accounting and organizational policies. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and provide timely, accurate month‑end support including journal entries (e.g., accruals, allocations), account reconciliations, variance analysis and assistance in the preparation of the year‑end audit, preparing notes and working papers. Provide timely, complete and relevant financial information to support senior management decision‑making, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual schedules and reports, variance analysis on operating expenditures, other income and other supporting schedules for management. Ensure timely and accurate billings to customers, collaborate with operations to prepare event settlements, and produce analytical reports including event profitability for events and operational services. Coordinate and attend monthly meetings with third parties to ensure financial compliance, timeliness of collections of receivables and resolution of issues. Support the preparation of month‑end and year‑end reporting timelines and assist in liaising with auditors. Ensure completeness and accuracy of 3rd‑party billings and perform annual audit of specified procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. About You - Working towards Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation in Canada – candidates who have successfully passed the Common Final Exam (CFE) are considered an asset. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field. - Three (3) or more years of progressive financial analysis experience. - Advanced Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Word. - Accounting and financial reporting experience in a computerized environment. - Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Plains) is an asset. - Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization. - Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and International Financial Reporting Standards / Public Sector Accounting Standards. - Ability to work independently and in a team workplace. - Ability to handle confidential documents and reports. Pay Range $35 – $40 per hour. Benefits Eligible for discretionary bonuses. Participation in medical, dental and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
