Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu documents as provided Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advising team leader of problems and making recommendations about corrective actionIn the absence of the team leader, assuming responsibility for departmental operations including any changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases of food and other supplies from authorized suppliers Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members Performing other duties as assignedMust haves

Grade 12 minimum education required A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permitYou must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check applicable to the appropriate province Additional qualifications that would be considered an asset
