Job Summary
As a Software Developer with Portfolio+, you will play a key role in shaping and enhancing our financial software solutions, empowering customers to achieve their goals. Leveraging your expertise in financial systems, programming, and analysis, you will contribute to building innovative, reliable, and high-performance products that assist Canadians in managing their day-to-day banking with our Canadian bank partners. Responsibilities
• Design and document software and technical deliverables in collaboration with Technical Publications.• Breakdown Epics and User Stories into discrete sprint-based tasks using Agile methodologies.• Participate actively in retrospectives, code reviews, paired programming, and initiatives/POCs to implement best practices.• Update timesheets, estimates, sprint deliverables, and innovation POCs in a timely manner.• Apply shift‑left testing methodologies, including functional and performance testing, DAST/SAST testing, and CI/CD integration.• Contribute to our Software Communities of Practice and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, SDLC/S‑SDLC migration, process improvements, and tech radar management.• Mentor and onboard new team members as needed.• Communicate effectively and support our DevOps culture, holding yourself and the team to a high bar of quality and commitment. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.• Proven experience in modern Object‑Oriented programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python, Golang, or Rust.• Experience with Prompt Engineering frameworks or concepts.• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture design patterns, SQL/NoSQL databases, object and data modeling.• Experience with RESTful APIs and modern software testing techniques, including Test‑Driven Development, integration and acceptance testing.• Proficiency with version control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) and CI tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Gradle, Ant, Maven). Familiarity with testing tools (ReadyAPI, Postman/Newman, JUnit) and artifact repositories (AWS CodeArtifact, AWS ECR, JFrog Artifactory, Harbor).• Experience with CD tools (Helm, Argo CD), containerization (Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes), and DevSecOps tools (X‑Ray, SonarQube, Rapid7).• Exposure to monitoring & logging (ELK Stack, DataDog, Splunk) and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).• Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps/DevSecOps principles with a passion for continuous improvement and high‑quality delivery.
