Your work as an inspector will directly contribute to safer homes, workplaces, and public spaces across the Yukon. **About the branch:** The Building Safety and Standards Branch ensures that the structures in which we live, work and play are safely constructed. The branch develops, interprets, administers, and enforces building, plumbing, electrical and mechanical standards. It also works with the City of Whitehorse to develop shared inspection standards that contribute to safer dwellings, workplaces and public spaces. Skilled safety inspectors conduct a variety of inspections, including building, electrical, plumbing, oil heating, wood stove, boiler, elevator, and gas. **About the job:** Reporting to the Chief Electrical Inspector, this position is responsible for conducting electrical inspections on all construction projects throughout Yukon to ensure that electrical installations are safe, and that they comply with the Canadian Electrical Code and the Electrical Protection Act and Regulations.
