Intermediate/senior Biologist Whitehorse

Fisheries Biologist Trinity Consultants Canada, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking a dedicated Fisheries Biologist to join our Water & Ecology team. In this role you will support clients in meeting regulatory requirements while safeguarding aquatic ecosystems. Responsibilities Plan and execute environmental studies, including fish, aquatic, wildlife, and habitat assessments. Conduct fieldwork in various settings, including remote locations, and operate specialized monitoring equipment. Analyze environmental data and prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation. Support project management and maintain direct communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle. Provide expertise in fish and fish habitat science. Provide strategic support and advise clients to help them achieve their project goals while balancing environmental protection. Qualifications and Skills Advanced degree in biology, aquatic science, or related field. R.P.Bio. certification or eligibility. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience within the environmental sector. Robust fish and fish habitat background related to infrastructure projects. Familiarity with YESAA and Fisheries Act project submissions and review processes. Proven experience completing Fisheries Act Authorization applications and designing habitat offsetting plans. Experience in vegetation surveys and assessments (particularly wetlands) is a solid asset. Excellent track record for strong client relations. Effective analytical, technical editing, and review skills, with the ability to manage data, projects, and ensure delivery of high‑quality reports and proposals. Excellent time management, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills. Robust attention to detail with a commitment to quality, excellence, and ethics. Proficiency in field equipment (e.g., flow meters, water quality instruments, fisheries tools); CABIN certification, bird ID skills, and nest sweep skills are considered assets. Willingness and ability to work safely in remote locations for extended field trips. Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record.
