The Beaufort Delta Divisional Council is hiring a culturally relevant Educator specializing in Inuvialuktun. Join a community committed to diversity, equity, and innovative education.
As an Educator, you'll develop and enhance programs celebrating Indigenous culture and values through a competency-based approach. Your engagement with community members and Elders will be key to fostering equity and inclusion within the educational framework. This role emphasizes land-based education and a commitment to indigenization, ensuring students connect with their cultural heritage.
Key Responsibilities:• Collaborate to create a culturally relevant curriculum • Incorporate Indigenous perspectives into classroom learning • Foster an inclusive environment for all students • Engage with community for program feedback • Develop land-based learning curriculum opportunities
Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in Education • Eligible for a Northwest Territories teaching certificate • Fluency in Inuvialuktun required • Strong understanding of Indigenous customs • Experience with competency-based curriculum implementation
