We are currently looking for Production Managers for a rotational contract (14 days on/14 days off). Accommodation and transportation provided.
Title Maintenance Production Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
Qualifications AME License or Four (4) years of Aviation Experience and Two (2) years of Management Experience

Job-Specific Duties Responsible for:
Maintenance Management
Short term (100hrs/30 days) forecasting reporting
Create a tracking plan and meet with DOM regarding progress and planning
Oversee the daily operation of the maintenance department
Update DOM as required on aircraft progress
Continued check ins with crew
Daily toolbox meetings with crew
Work with Op Control to ensure clear communication of aircraft availability
Provide DOM with weekly data for scorecard results (AOG updates on aircraft, CapX calendar/hour next due and status updates on major projects.)
Attend Senior Leadership Team or Management Team meetings as delegated when the DOM is absent
Management of on-call schedule for maintenance purposes for the base with oversight from DOM
Oversee and communicate with Operations on the day-to-day mechanical issues and snags for aircraft planning
Responsible for ensuring AOG concerns are brought to the DOM
Responsible for ensuring work is started on AOG items on the floor
Responsible for assessing the day-to-day operations and communicate with Ops regarding any changes to the daily schedule
Coordinate with the DOM and maintenance personnel for large planning projects that may require aircraft to be offline for any time longer than one day
Communication of long-term planning for maintenance items scheduled on respective shift
Ensure all aircraft types maintenance items are staggered to ensure availability of aircraft
Meet the timeline for scheduled maintenance
Focus on the AME’s on the floor to ensure tasks are being completed
Create realistic timelines for scheduled maintenance for all aircraft in fleet
Ensure the maintenance on medevac aircraft is staggered to ensure 2 medevac aircraft are always available
Liaise as required with manufacturers, AMO’s, engineering firms, parts suppliers, etc.
Schedule 3rd party maintenance when required with support of DOM
Work with QA Manager to ensure the appropriate training/accuracy is in place for the maintenance department and implement regular audits of non-compliance areas
Work with Technical Records on any QC findings to ensure accuracy of documents
Participate in the Alkan Air SQMS system and encourage other maintenance personnel to be actively engaged
Consult with the PRMC to ensure maintenance policies and procedures required by Car’s and the manual are complied with.
Consult with the PRMC regarding short erm maintenance planning.
Ensure ACA’s have adequate guidance and resources.
Remove aircraft from service as required
Advise PRMC of any difficulties encountered
Evaluate and submit Service Difficulty Reports as required
Evaluate Publication Reviews including AD/SB’s and implement as required.
Enter Maintenance Agreements as required.
Consult with flight crews and maintenance personnel on any maintenance related issues.
Evaluate Quarantine Parts for disposal or repair.
Perform MEL extensions as required.
Other duties as assigned by the PRMC.
People Management
Jointly with the DOM - Management of employee working schedules including approving time off requests, approving the drafted schedule and notifying Scheduler and HR when an employee is absent
Primary approval of maintenance timesheets for payroll with secondary approval by DOM
Liaise with the DOM and HR Department with respect to Performance Management of Employees and conducting timely performance evaluations
Hiring and staffing the maintenance departments as delegated by DOM
Coaching, developing and training employees
Manage/train all staff in use of maintenance programs
Develop annual training plan for all personnel with involvement from DOM
Support in the planning and structure of in-house training
Administer Additional/Updated and Recurrent training to personnel as required.
Supporting problem resolution and decision-making
Overall support of management, the company and any related policies/documents to be adhered to
Working with the DOM to monitor and control expenses and the corresponding maintenance budgets
Work with the DOM to plan and set goals for future periods for maintenance teams and individual goal plans
Responsibilities and Duties outlined in the attached Section 125 of Canada Labour Code Part III relating to Occupational Health and Safety for Employees
As a member of this team, it is understood that there will be uneven workloads and demands on your time. The goal is to create systems and processes and redundancy to avoid excess workload. However, as the Production Manager, there will be times where work-life balance is impacted.
