Automotive Software Architect (Windsor)

We are currently seeking experienced team members to support an ongoing automotive development program. This is a senior-level Automotive Software Architect / Embedded Engineering role requiring deep automotive domain expertise and hands-on experience in vehicle electronic and software architecture. The position is expected to run approximately 6–12 months, with potential extension based on future program developments. Candidates located in the Toronto/Windsor/Detroit area are preferred. Key requirements - 15+ years of experience in Automotive ECU embedded software architecture and development for Body Electronics, Domain Controllers, and Zone Controllers - Demonstrated experience working on vehicle E/E architecture platforms (FNV3.x, FNV4 preferred), including decomposition of requirements into architectural elements, development of static and dynamic behavioral models, and establishment of traceability, consistency, and testability criteria - Strong understanding of OTA and Cybersecurity concepts within modern automotive software platforms - Proficiency with architecture and modeling tools such as Enterprise Architect (preferred) - Proven experience developing software in compliance with ISO 26262 standards, including ASIL-based software decomposition (TSR) and implementation of safety mechanisms in accordance with safety manuals and customer requirements - Strong analytical and system-level problem-solving capabilities, including abstraction, dependency analysis, risk identification, and understanding of system boundary conditions and application domains - Hands-on experience with ECU testing, diagnostics, debugging through diagnostic interfaces/debuggers, vehicle integration, and system calibration - Robust understanding of control-oriented applications and electro-mechanical systems, including PTO, REC, motor control systems, actuator/sensor interfaces, and relay-based applications - Demonstrated experience in complete AUTOSAR-based ECU software development using tools such as DaVinci Configurator/Developer or equivalent authoring toolchains - Hands-on experience with MCAL configuration, driver development, RTOS, HSM, OTA, and diagnostics protocols such as UDS, along with related tools including CANdela Studio, CANDiVA, CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, or equivalent - Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with internal technical teams and third-party solution providers - Familiarity with Software Configuration and Change Management tools such as Git, Jira, Polarion, and other ALM/CM/RM platforms Pay: From $82,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Windsor, ON Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2o3yb5
