Controller - Forge Consulting Group (Windsor)

Forge Consulting Group is partnering with a client to hire an experienced and driven Controller for a role based in Windsor, ON. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a multi-entity environment, where you will take full ownership of the accounting function, lead process improvements, and deliver accurate, insight-driven financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: Accounting & Close Ownership - Lead the full month-end close process across multiple legal entities - Prepare accurate, review-ready financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) - Ensure all journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations are completed with accuracy and proper accounting treatment - Maintain robust balance sheet integrity through timely and well-documented reconciliations Financial Reporting & Analysis - Produce internal management reporting packages - Conduct variance analysis against budget and prior periods - Identify trends, anomalies, and potential control issues proactively - Provide clear, data-driven explanations and supporting analysis Process & Internal Controls - Ensure adherence to accounting processes and reporting timelines - Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures - Identify inefficiencies, risks, or gaps and implement practical solutions - Ensure consistent and accurate accounting treatment across a multi-entity structure Payroll & Operational Finance - Oversee payroll processing, including ROEs and year-end filings (T4s) in collaboration with HR - Ensure accurate recording of payroll, benefits, and related liabilities Systems & Reporting - Utilize accounting systems and reporting tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency - Maintain data integrity across subledgers, payroll systems, and the general ledger - Experience with Power BI dashboards and financial visualization is considered an asset Qualifications & Skills: - CPA designation (required) - 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle close - Experience in multi-entity environments - Strong technical accounting, Excel, and financial analysis skills - Leadership mindset with attention to detail and accountability Schedule: - Monday to Friday - 8-hour shifts - Onsite position (Windsor, ON) Send Resume to: Forge Consulting is a growth-oriented organization determined to enable our people to realize their potential.
