Description
Position Overview Performs a variety of material distribution functions including processing incoming/outgoing materials, picking and filling orders, storing material in the proper location, communicating efficiently with different departments, inventory counting, and controlling inventory operational levels for the MHC inventory in a cost‑effective and efficient manner. Responsibilities Ensures accurate and timely distribution of medical and surgical items, maintains computerized records using ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support the health centre’s core values, philosophy, vision, and continuous improvement goals. Experience Familiar with ERP systems such as SAP and database procedures. Experience with modern warehousing practices is preferred. Minimum six (6) months experience in the distribution of medical/surgical items within a health care environment. Experience maintaining a computerized warehouse/distribution centre in a health care setting. Education Grade 12. English language proficiency consistent with the demands of the position. Must be computer literate (Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word) and able to prove same. Medical Terminology preferred. Certification/Licence/Registration Not applicable. Committed to ongoing education and career development. Physical Requirements Regularly lift or move objects up to 20 kg utilizing proper body mechanics. Constant standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. Occasional sitting, climbing or balancing required. Security and Background Checks This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as a condition of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
