Registered Practical Nurse (RPN): · Is a Member of the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing, reporting to the Director of Care. · Provide professional nursing care in accordance with Care Plans and CNO. · Reviews, reads, documents and communicates appropriate resident care information. · Administers medications using EMAR. · Responsible for timely and appropriate assessment and care plan updates in coordination with Director of Care and Wellness Team as per legislation. · Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the work. · May participate in regulated required committees as necessary such as Falls Committee, Infection Prevention and Control Committee, Workplace Health and Safety Committee. · Supervision of staff team as the senior member present when working after hours in the absence of Management. Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience: · Current certificate of competence as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario. · Certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid. · Maintains and upgrades nursing skills through self study and attending industry courses or seminars. · Functional understanding of the Retirement Homes Act and Regulations pertaining to Care. · Minimum one year working experience in a nursing role, preferably in a Retirement Home setting. · Positive and Cheerful demeanor and approach to providing Care to a Retirement population. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is a part-time position in a Regulated Retirement Community offering competitive wages. As such, the successful applicant will need to conduct training and pre-screening requirements prior to being hired, and annually thereafter as specified under the act.
