Description
Company Carbon Lock Tech is a Manitoba-based cleantech startup focused on addressing climate change through carbon capture and sequestration. The company is currently developing systems and technologies for converting organic matter into a stable form of biocarbon that can be sequestered or “locked” into a range of valuable applications. Responsibilities include: Operate the patented pyrolysis reactor and auxiliary systems during test campaigns, including start-up, steady-state operation, shutdown, and routine equipment checks using common hand and power tools. Install, modify, and maintain piping, valves, flanges, and mechanical connections on the reactor and support equipment to enable different test configurations and ensure reliable operation. Implement and verify PLC and HMI changes required for new test campaigns, including adding or reassigning I/O, updating logic, and troubleshooting control-related issues. Install, wire, configure, and calibrate field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level) and electrical components (motors, drives, control panels) to support evolving test and data needs. Upgrade and maintain data acquisition paths from instruments and PLCs, ensuring accurate signal routing, scaling, and recording for test analysis and reporting. Troubleshoot operational issues during campaigns by interpreting instrument trends and alarms, then performing secure hands-on corrective actions (e.g., clearing blockages, tightening connections, replacing faulty components). Required skills and qualifications include: Graduated from a Canadian recognized technology or engineering program Ability to work under minimal supervision, is a must Robust engineering fundamentals; reporting and communication (written/verbal) required Comfortable working in a rapid-paced environment and working on multiple different tasks Process Applicants must reside in Manitoba and be willing and able to work in Headingley, Manitoba The applicant must meet funding requirements.
