Video Ad Creator - Short-form & Paid Social (Canada)

Compensation Month 1 (trial - part time): $3,000 CAD · 20 videos minimum (~$150/video) Months 2 & 3 (full time): $6,000 CAD/month · 40 videos per month After month 3: Performance review and discussion about extending into a permanent role with revenue sharing. Videos are 15–30 seconds and should take no more than 3 hours each to produce. Payscales with output, not hours. About the role We’re looking for a short-form video creator to shoot, edit, and deliver ad content that stops people mid-scroll. You’ll work closely with our paid media team, get briefs and scripts to work from, and have real input into the creative direction. The use of AI tools is welcome and encouraged. Your videos go live with real budget behind them. You'll see exactly what converts and why, and start turning that data into better creative over time. This is a remote, output-based contract. Compensation scales with what you produce, not hours logged. There are many opportunities to scale your income with performance. What you’ll do - Shoot and edit short-form video ads from briefs and scripts. - Bring your own creative spin to hooks, formats, and on-screen storytelling - Iterate based on performance data - you’ll learn what’s working and why - Deliver consistently across Meta, TikTok, and Snapchat formats Example videos Here’s a sense of the format we’re looking for: What we’re looking for - A portfolio of short-form or ad content you’ve shot and edited yourself (bonus if you’ve made app-specific content) - A good eye for hooks - you know what makes someone stop scrolling - Comfortable on camera and behind the edit - Self-directed and reliable - you hit your deadlines without being chased - Open to feedback and excited to make content that actually converts - Bonus if you’ve personally worked in the trades or professional service sector, or with a small business where you have dealt with the chaos of tracking expenses, chasing invoices, and surviving tax season.
