Description
Job Title:** Lead Enterprise / Solution Architect – Design Authority Location: Remote Power utilities experience is a must. The Lead Enterprise / Solution Architect shall serve as a core member of the Program Design Authority (DA) and provide end-to-end architectural governance across business, IT, OT, cybersecurity, operational, and integration domains supporting the program. The Architect shall ensure that all solution designs, integrations, and implementation activities align with the approved target operating model, IT/OT roadmap, operational requirements, cybersecurity standards, and regulatory obligations. Key Responsibilities · Establish and govern the target-state business, IT, OT, and integration architecture · Review and approve solution designs, interface specifications, and architectural decisions across all workstreams · Ensure alignment with NERC CIP requirements, operational reliability objectives, and long-term architectural principles · Coordinate architectural decisions across Client, stakeholders, vendors, and System Integrator teams · Maintain architecture standards, design principles, decision logs, and traceability documentation · Identify and manage architectural risks, technical dependencies, and integration impacts · Support operational readiness, environment strategy, testing coordination, deployment planning, and cutover activities · Participate in governance forums, design reviews, and executive decision-making processes as required Required Skills & Experience · Extensive experience in enterprise and solution architecture for large-scale transformation programs · Strong understanding of utility operational environments, preferably within transmission operations, ISO/RTO environments, EMS/SCADA, or energy sector operations · Experience integrating IT, OT, cybersecurity, operational, and business systems within highly regulated environments · Strong knowledge of: o Enterprise integration patterns o Operational technology architectures o Cloud and hybrid infrastructure models o Network and communications architectures o Cybersecurity and zero-trust principles · Familiarity with NERC CIP, operational reliability requirements, and utility governance models · Experience supporting multi-vendor system integration programs and complex dependency management · Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills across executive, operational, and technical teams · Experience establishing architecture governance processes, standards, and design review practices · Robust documentation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities · Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced, highly collaborative transformation programs Preferred Experience · Previous experience supporting ISO/RTO, utility control centre, grid modernization, or operational transformation programs · Experience with EMS/SCADA platforms, ICCP integrations, operational communications, or utility operational technology ecosystems · Experience supporting operational readiness, testing governance, and cutover planning activities · Familiarity with utility operational planning, outage coordination, and control room environments The Design Authority shall operate using a collaborative “three-in-a-box” model involving IESO-NS, NSP, and the System Integrator to ensure alignment, operational continuity, and controlled transition execution.
