Mechanical Assembler / Production Associate Custom Fabrication | Assembly | Shipping&Crating

About The Opportunity Our client is a well-established Hamilton manufacturer specializing in custom metal fabrication, industrial worktables, rolling carts, shelving systems, and fabricated equipment solutions for commercial and industrial clients.
We are currently seeking a mechanically inclined Mechanical Assembler / Production Associate who enjoys hands‑on work, takes pride in building quality products, and understands how to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
This is not a repetitive assembly line role. Successful candidates will be assembling custom‑built products, preparing shipments, building crates and skids, and supporting various shop operations. We are looking for someone who can confidently use tools, read measurements accurately, and contribute to a fast‑paced production team with minimal supervision.

Wage Starting at $23.00+ per hour based on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assemble custom fabricated products including rolling carts, industrial worktables, shelving units, storage systems, and specialty equipment.
Install legs, casters, handles, brackets, hardware, and components accurately using hand and power tools.
Read and follow work orders, assembly drawings, measurements, and production instructions.
Use drills, impact guns, saws, measuring tapes, levels, and other shop tools safely and efficiently.
Build wooden skids, pallets, and shipping crates for outgoing customer orders.
Package, wrap, and prepare completed products for shipment.
Inspect finished assemblies to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper fitment.
Support material handling, shop organization, and general production duties.
Assist with loading, staging, and moving fabricated products throughout the facility.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused workspace.
Work closely with fabrication, welding, and shipping departments to meet production deadlines.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, production, construction, or fabrication environments.
Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools.
Ability to accurately read tape measures and follow assembly instructions.Experience assembling products, equipment, furniture, carts, fixtures, or custom components considered a strong asset.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
Ability to problem‑solve and work independently once trained.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing hands‑on work throughout the shift.
Forklift experience considered an asset.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
CSA‑approved steel toe safety boots required.
