About The Role
The Welder will be responsible for repairing cosmetic non-pressure welds using MIG and TIG welding techniques and maintaining cleanliness of the work area. The position is also responsible for ad hoc repairs. Shift: Day Shift (Monday - Friday) Location: Calgary, AB (SE Area) Welding (75%)
MIG/TIG production line welding Read and interpret blueprints or process specifications a Recognize defective welds, knowing the cause, and repair procedure for the defective area or part. Performing repairs on stainless steel shroud Conducting checks to guarantee assigned equipment is operating correctly and in good working order.Liaise with the Quality Control team, Shipping/Receiving, and other employees, and supervisors. Maintaining the assigned work area clean and free from hazards Adhering to health and safety protocols including always wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Maintenance (25%)
Preventative Maintenance of equipment: Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance activities, following manufacturers and internal instructions as required. Ability to use electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, infrared scanning equipment and other tools as necessary for servicing applicable equipment.Identify opportunities to improve existing PM schedules and suggest appropriate changes as equipment ages, new technology is introduced, or as part of continuous improvement initiatives. Support with scheduling PM, reading reports, diagrams, and drawings. Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience
A minimum of 2 years of welding experience preferred Welding certification Demonstrated ability to work to exact drawing and order specifications an asset. Ability to read and follow instruction Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates strong attention to detail in order to create highest quality level productsExperience using hand tools and equipment, along with experience using measuring equipment an asset. Possesses effective time management skills and efficiency
