Your main responsibilities

Lead and support electrical engineering designs for Municipal Electrical team. Projects are primarily focused on: Water and Wastewater Treatment facilities, Pumping Stations, and Lift Stations.

Prepare detailed design documents including calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.

Primarily design electrical power systems up to 750 V.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project meetings.

Conduct site assessments and construction reviews to verify compliance with design requirements.

Assist with project planning, scheduling, cost estimates, and client communications.

Lead and direct on-site commissioning.

What makes you unique

Familiarity in the following categories is a requirement:

Industrial power systems (MCCs, VFDs, ATS etc.)

Standby generators and backup power

Understanding of PLC and controls systems

Strong understanding of relay logic and control wiring

Experience with instrumentation equipment (Flow, Pressure, and Analytical Equipment etc.)

Commissioning and testing of the power and controls systems

Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code, National Building Code and applicable industry standards.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Municipal Water and Wastewater industry or industrial facilities.

Certifications (1 of the following):

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or diploma in related discipline.

Registered with APEGA or ASET.

P.Eng or P.Tech.(Eng.) certification is required.

Electrician or Instrumentation Certificate.

Additional skills that would be helpful

Experience with drafting or modelling software: AutoCAD, Revit, Plant3D, Solid Works etc.

Experience with SKM and/or ETAP.
