Construction estimator (Canada)

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing, and preparing accurate project estimates and bid submissions.​ Review construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial, residential, and civil projects. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Identify project risks and opportunities during the estimating process. Prepare bid packages and tender submissions. Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and company leadership. Maintain estimating databases and historical cost records. Assist with budgeting, value engineering, and cost analysis. Qualifications: 3+ years of construction estimating experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor productivity. Experience with takeoff and estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, Procore, or similar). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Robust organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously. Preferred Experience Flooring, tile, commercial interiors, landscaping, concrete, or general construction estimating experience. Knowledge of Alberta construction practices and procurement processes. Experience bidding public-sector and commercial projects. Familiarity with MERX and other tender platforms. Compensation Competitive salary based on experience.
