Description
What You’ll Do Lead the civil/structural engineering discipline on major nuclear projects Serve as the primary civil/structural point of contact with OPG and key stakeholders Oversee preparation and review of structural calculations, foundation designs, steel and concrete detailing, and technical specifications Ensure all designs comply with Canadian nuclear regulatory standards and CNSC requirements Lead and mentor civil and structural engineers and designers, fostering a culture of rigor, compliance, and continuous improvement Challenge teams to deliver fit‑for‑purpose, fully compliant engineering solutions Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and optimized project delivery Review and approve vendor documentation and technical submittals Drive innovation and cost‑effective design while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards Support proposals, project planning, and client presentations Identify and manage scope changes, technical risks, and project opportunities What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred) P.Eng. license in Ontario (required) 15+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, including 5+ years in nuclear projects Direct OPG experience (employee, contractor, or consultant) – mandatory Active OPG security clearance Strong working knowledge of OPG processes and tools (ECC, Asset Suite 9, EBOM) Deep understanding of CSA nuclear standards (N291, N287, N299) and CNSC requirements Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ANSYS, or similar Strong understanding of the National Building Code (NBC), CSA standards, and seismic design requirements Proven experience leading engineering teams on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects Solid communication skills and confidence in client‑facing roles Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality results under tight deadlines Why This Role Senior, high‑visibility leadership role in Canada’s nuclear sector Long‑term, stable and technically challenging project portfolio Prospect to influence engineering standards, strategy, and best practices Collaborative, highly technical engineering setting Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pzz6y
