CFP Advice-Only Financial Planner - abbotsford, Abbotsford
Description
Build Your Practice — With Real Support Behind You This role tends to resonate with CFP professionals who: - Love financial planning, not product sales - Take pride in doing thoughtful, high-quality work - Want to build and grow a sustainable client practice - Value being part of a team with shared standards and expectations - Care about contributing to something bigger than their own book At Money Coaches Canada, you’re part of a structured model designed to support high-quality financial planning for clients who have complex finances, competing priorities, and real decisions to make. Within that model, you’re building a practice that can grow over time, with the support, systems, and expectations needed to do the work well. That includes a steady flow of referrals, centralized operations, and the infrastructure that allows you to focus on financial planning and supporting clients, rather than running a business. We are an advice-only firm. That means no product sales and no conflicting incentives. Just clear, unbiased financial planning aligned with the client’s best interests. For many planners, that clarity and the ability to do the work without competing incentives is a meaningful shift. You’re part of a national firm with shared standards, shared goals, and a collective commitment to doing excellent work. How the Model Works We don’t think of this as a platform you plug into. It’s an ecosystem. You bring your expertise, judgment, and your work with clients. We provide the infrastructure, systems, referrals, and support that make it sustainable and scalable. We also expect everyone to contribute to the strength of the whole. That means: - Showing up not just for your clients, but for the broader organization - Working within shared approaches that support consistency and quality - Sharing insights and contributing to how we evolve - Being part of a team that is building something together What the Work Looks Like A typical week might include: - Meeting with prospects to articulate the value of advice-only planning, determining if they would be a good fit to work with Money Coaches Canada, and, if so, proposing an engagement - Meeting with clients—often high-income households, business owners, and individuals facing complex financial decisions—to understand their goals, priorities, and what matters most to them - Developing and presenting financial plans - Supporting clients through implementation and ongoing planning - Collaborating with other professionals on more complex cases - Contributing to improving how we deliver advice as a firm The work is thoughtful, relationship-driven, and grounded in helping clients move forward with clarity and confidence. What You’ll Be Supported With The goal of our model is simple: to provide the infrastructure and support needed to allow you to focus on high-value work with clients. You’ll have access to: - A steady flow of referrals generated through MCC’s national presence (4,300+ Canadians served) - Centralized billing and bookkeeping - E&O; coverage and compliance support - Financial Planning, CRM, and reporting tools - Administrative and operational support We also invest directly in you as a professional by providing: - Coverage of CFP certification renewal fees - FPAC membership - Expenses covered to attend the annual MCC conference (typically held in Vancouver) - CE Credits (through FPAC or FP Canada) - 3 weeks’ vacation plus paid closure between Christmas and New Year’s - Health Spending Account - Life insurance - Long-Term Disability and AD&D; coverage Leadership, Mentorship, and Culture This isn’t a loose network of independent planners. We are intentional about how we lead, how we support one another, and how we work together. You’ll have access to strong leadership, practical mentorship, and a team that is actively engaged in improving how we serve clients and how we operate. What drives us is straightforward: - Doing excellent work - Acting with integrity - Helping Canadians gain financial clarity so they can live the lives they want Culture here isn’t performative. It shows up in how decisions are made, how people are supported, and how seriously we take the responsibility of the work. How You Earn Our compensation model combines salary with a share of client revenue, designed to balance support in the early stages with meaningful upside as your practice grows. This is a role for experienced CFP professionals. Even so, the first year is typically a development year — not because you are learning financial planning, but because you are building your practice within our model, deepening familiarity with our approach, and growing recurring client revenue. Earnings typically grow over time as both your practice and revenue base grow. Illustrative earnings progression over the first three years may look like: - Year 1: $70,000–$100,000 - Year 2: $85,000–$150,000 - Year 3: $120,000–$180,000+ Actual earnings will vary based on experience, client revenue growth, and pace of practice development, with more experienced planners often reaching higher earning potential sooner. We will walk through the model in detail, so candidates understand both the structure and the prospect. A Voice in What We’re Building MCC is still evolving. That’s intentional. We look to our planners to help shape what comes next, from how we deliver advice to how we build systems and support clients at scale. Your perspective matters here. Who This Role Works Well For This model isn’t for everyone. It tends to work best for planners who: · Are Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professionals · Take ownership of their work and client outcomes · Have the drive, discipline, and confidence to build and grow a sustainable client practice · Value shared standards and consistency in how work is delivered · Want to be part of a team working toward a common goal · Have 5+ years of experience in the financial planning industry · Want to work from home and meet with clients virtually/online · Are able to work full-time in this role Who This Role Is Not For This likely isn’t a fit if you: - Prefer product-driven or investment-led roles - Want a highly structured, corporate environment - Are looking for a purely administrative or support role - Prefer complete independence without shared expectations - Need the structure of a formal office setting A Different Way to Build a Career For the right person, this is a genuinely compelling way to build a career. You can do meaningful work, grow something that’s yours, and be part of a team that cares deeply about doing it well. It’s a model grounded in shared values, putting clients first, doing excellent work, and contributing to something bigger than your own book of business. The impact of that work is tangible: helping people make better decisions, reduce stress, and move forward with more clarity and confidence. It’s the kind of role people look for and don’t often find, and when it’s the right fit, it’s a powerful way to build a career. If this sounds like the kind of work and environment you’ve been looking for, we’d love to hear from you.
