We are looking for Civil or Geological Engineering students to join our geotechnical engineering team based in Burnaby, BC for a 3‐month period (June to September 2026) with option to extend to 7 months (June to December 2026). The successful candidate will work closely with a local team of 35 geotechnical staff in Burnaby, supported by a wider, regional team of over 200 geotechnical staff. Our team supports all stages of project delivery with technical expertise in seismicity, transportation and infrastructure, dams, trenchless technologies, rock engineering, and geohazards and geomorphology. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed soil classification geotechnical laboratory testing to characterize soil samples collected from site investigations. Perform geotechnical fieldwork, including subgrade reviews, vibration monitoring, and construction quality control / quality assurance. Coordinate projects in conjunction with Stantec field staff, office staff, the client and other parties such as regulators and suppliers. Collect and compile field and laboratory data to support analyses and design. Prepare reports and memoranda detailing the work carried out, results, conclusions and recommendations. Collaborate with other geotechnical team members to support larger Stantec teams, including buildings, transportation, power, water, environmental, archaeology, and mining. Flexibility to work in varying locations and hours. Qualifications Valid Canadian driver's license with access to a vehicle. Residing in British Columbia, or willing to relocate. Education and Experience Registered in an accredited post‐secondary institute. Undergraduates with at least one year in a Civil or Geological Engineering undergraduate degree/diploma program are encouraged to apply. Field work may include exposure to elements and inclement weather. Some time will be spent in a typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods. Pay Range $21.56 - $29.59 Hourly In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed‐upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec, certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‐time roles will be pro‐rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
